I was looking for a company where I could build a career, and not just find a job. When I came across Foundation Systems of Michigan more than five years ago, I knew I had found a better opportunity for myself.

I started at FSM in the installation department as a floater on a crew. I quickly realized that if you work hard, you will be recognized and rewarded -- I am literally a prime example! After a short time, I was promoted to a Foreman leading a crew, and I am now the Quality Control Supervisor.

As FSM grows, new opportunities and positions are offered at every level. No matter your background, whether you have an experienced construction background or are a beginner, you can still succeed at this company.

FSM works hard to provide quality service. In order to maintain the focus on quality service, FSM created a new position that focuses on all aspects of quality control. When I transitioned into this new role as Quality Control Supervisor, I knew it was a unique career opportunity, and I appreciated that I was able to advance my career without leaving the building. I really enjoy being in a position that makes me feel like I am making a difference.

Every company should reward their employees for their hard work, effort and positive attitude and Foundation Systems of Michigan does just that.

I started at the bottom as a floater almost 10 years ago and now I am a top Foreman. FSM doesn’t hold you back from opportunity, they encourage you to grow and push you to better yourself.

It feels rewarding to work at a company who puts effort forth to create a positive and welcoming work environment – I like the people I work with, I like the way the company treats their employees, from incentives to the general financial compensation.

You are not just a number, you are an asset to the company, and they treat you that way. They provide weekly training for all crew members – from floaters to foreman, so we’re always learning and improving.

They reward you for doing good work and provide the necessary tools to get the job done right. If you put in effort and produce quality work, you will be recognized. It’s hard to come by companies who care about their employees and will work with them to succeed, but FSM cares about their people.
